TheOS&Y Rising Stem Ductile Iron Gate Valve is a heavy-duty industrial isolation valve designed for reliable on/off service in water, olej, plyn, and steam pipeline systems. Manufactured to API 600, the American Petroleum Institute standard for steel gate valves in refinery and related applications where corrosion, erosion, and severe service conditions are common. This valve features an outside screw and yoke (OS&Y) rising stem design that provides clear visual position indication — the stem rises when the valve opens and lowers when it closes. The renewable metal seat rings (13Cr/Stellite hardfaced) ensure long-lasting sealing performance and easy field maintenance. A: OS&Y (Outside Screw & Yoke) gate valves feature a rising stem that provides visual position indication—rising when open and lowering when closed. The stem threads are located externally, making lubrication easy. NRS (Non-Rising Stem) gate valves rotate in place without rising or lowering, making them suitable for underground installations with limited overhead clearance. OS&Y valves are mandatory for fire protection systems (NFPA standards).

Q2: What is the difference between API 600 and ASME B16.34 gate valves?

A: ASME B16.34 is a general valve design standard covering all valve types. API 600 is a stricter, industry-specific standard applicable only to steel gate valves in the oil and gas sector; it requires heavier construction, metal seats, and more rigorous testing.

Q3: What are the advantages of metal seats (replaceable)?

A: Replaceable metal seats (13Cr or Stellite overlay) can be swapped out in the field without replacing the entire valve. The sealing surfaces are ground and polished to a mirror finish, providing a bubble-tight seal. They offer excellent durability in high-temperature, high-pressure, and abrasive media applications.

Q4: What are the maximum working pressure and temperature for this gate valve?

A: The standard configuration is Class 150 with a temperature range of 0°C to +80°C. Pressure ratings of PN10, PN16, a PN25, as well as extended temperature ranges, are available upon request.

Q5: Can gate valves be used for throttling?
